Art as a Means of Expression

I believe that art communicates from the artist to the audience. An artist either consciously or subconsciously accesses the inner feelings in themselves when creating art. Creation of a work is the bringing about of various combinations of elements and feelings. Creation, according to me, is the reformation of the pre-existing emotions and materials, and the culmination of the combined feelings. I certainly use painting as a mode to communicate and express my feelings. I love adding colour to life as I believe that art is an expression of emotions.

Being a family lawyer and dealing with emotions at all stages, I also take solace and joy in painting women and their emotions. I try to encapsulate the rollercoaster ride and lives that they lead. I aim to express what a woman might go through during different phases of her life, as painting is a way express emotions.

I enjoy when I paint. It gives me solace and an escape from the mad rat race that we otherwise get caught up in. I enjoy painting, as I switch off and into another world. I love adding various colours and dimensions, as I believe that an artist has to experiment and take risk, and it is all a journey.

I also believe that I get to know more of myself as I paint and experiment. Each creation helps me understand myself better. I enjoy my painting sessions as it is a spiritual journey for me, which helps me meditate and obtain nirvana, to a certain extent. I love adding colours to life, as well as to my canvas.

May all artists find happiness whilst connecting with their creations.
